Zulfira Burangulova

Residing in Moscow, Zulfira Burangulova specialises in hand-painted decorative porcelain plates after receiving several years of training in various decorative painting techniques in Istanbul.

One area of her specialisation is the art of pointillism (dot art), a technique of painting, where small distinct dots of colour are applied on patterns to form an image. This technique was first developed by Georges Seurat and Paul Signac in 1886, branching from Impressionism. This limited edition handcrafted decorative porcelain plate is inspired by the Moscow Cathedral Mosque in Russia.

Zulfira has participated in multiple exhibitions and conferences and has held tailored workshops in Moscow. She trained in Iznik painting in 2014 at the Ekaterinburg (Екатеринбу́рг) Pedagogical College (College of Decorative Arts). Cambridge Islamic Art is very honoured to have Zulfira as the first artist participant from Russia.
